"Forgiveness and Conflict: Lessons from Africa" is my ten-year-long project spent working in post-conflict countries in Africa, made possible by support from Catalyst for Peace and the John S. Guggenheim Foundation. "Forgiveness and Conflict" is made up of six distinct physical chapters contained within a Kraft magazine file folder presented as one complete book. Each chapter represents one part of the project, and the book "ends" of the file folder contain the project statement and quotes relevant to the work, and the edition numbering. Title and author labels are handwritten; and "Chapter Three: In My Life" is handmade by the author. The book/file folder is deliberately made to accommodate additional "lessons" to be added by the book owner as part of their own research and studies into Africa and its cultural practices of forgiveness and justice. This is the trade edition of the book, in an edition of 125 copies; an artist's book of 50 copies, featuring additional handmade work, was released in March 2016.
