SALE TITLES-- 1/2 off w/purchase of full-price book: Zackary Canepari -- Flint is a place
Zackary Canepari's "Flint is a place" is a mixed media series about Flint, Michigan, a town Zack has been working in since 2012. Here's what he has to say about the project:
Flint no longer needs an introduction after this past year and it probably hasn’t needed one for the past 30 years. The city has long been the poster child for the American dream gone wrong. Between Michael Moore and the Water Crisis, everyone knows what to expect when they hear the name “Flint”. Economic, political and social dysfunction. In a perfect world, this project would be conveying some other reality; it would show you another story. But these ideas about Flint are accurate. Flint is a place of struggle. It’s true and everybody knows it. But that’s not all it is. I’ve been working in Flint for nearly five years now and have unique relationship with the city and it’s residents. It's a place with incredible character and a rich history. Hopefully the work I do keep people a glimpse of Flint past the headlines.
